Company Leadership

Richard Schrade
President, Co-Founder

Richard is an industrial automation expert with over 10 years of experience designing and optimizing automated systems across a variety of industries including consumer products, food and beverage, and industrial manufacturing. He received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech. He currently resides in Fort Worth, TX, with his wife and dog.

Ari Siesser
Chief Scientist, Co-Founder

Ari is an expert in optimizing the performance of factories, warehouses, and distribution centers using mathematical algorithms and simulation. Prior to co-founding Automation Intelligence, Ari was a PhD student at Georgia Tech with a focus on first-order methods for solving constrained, convex optimization problems as well as supply chain optimization. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science in Analytics, both from Georgia Tech. He currently resides in Atlanta, GA, where he enjoys spending time with his dog exploring the BeltLine.

Sheldon Smith
Vice President, Engineering

Sheldon has over 13 years of experience in engineering, with a specialization in simulation and emulation modeling for complex manufacturing processes. He has both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech. He currently resides in Atlanta, GA, where he enjoys photography, travel, and officiating high school football games.

Shannon has over 15 years of experience in developing and executing business growth strategies including marketing, business development, and operational processes. She has a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Master of Science in Sports Administration, both from Florida State. She currently resides in Denver, CO, where she enjoys concerts at Red Rocks and hiking with her dog.  

Virtual Commissioning: A Digital Twin Example

We recently worked with an automotive manufacturer to virtually commission several new automated production lines. This manufacturer estimates a loss of $10,000 per minute when they have to halt their production for new equipment installation.

Across several different virtual commissioning projects, our test of the PLC code on a physics-enabled virtual model saved approximately two days of production downtime per project.
